Stephanie Jurries

 

Stephanie was raised in the Sierra Nevada mountains of northern California, and recieved a B.S. in Botany at Humboldt State University in 2004.

 

Her photography focuses on flowers and plants,  wildlife, general nature, landscapes, and commercial fishing. 

 

She makes a living commercial fishing and diving with her fisherman husband. Together they roam the length of southeast Alaska, chasing salmon, geoduck clams, and sea cucumbers. Stephanie is also a licensed boat captain, and if you visit Prince of Wales Island, she  can take you on a custom whale watching and sight-seeing tour.  Visit www.emeraldislandadventures.com for more information.

 

Her photography as been published in Alaska Magazine, Pacific Fishing Magazine, the Prince of Wales Island Visitors Guide, and Mother Earth News.  It is available for sale at the Strictly Local Selections Art Gallery in Craig, Alaska.

 

She believes that southeast Alaska is truly one of the most unique and beautiful places left of the planet, and her goal with her photography is to share her love of and knowledge about nature with others.
